Description

Serious Fire Protection Without a Bulky Extinguisher

When you're miles from the truck or trailer, a small problem can turn into a major one quickly. Fuel, electrical systems, hot exhaust components, batteries, and aftermarket accessories all make carrying fire protection on a UTV a smart move.

The Element E50 Fire Extinguisher gives you a compact fire-fighting solution that's particularly well suited for UTVs, ATVs, off-road vehicles, race vehicles, trucks, trailers, and garages.

Instead of relying on a traditional pressurized bottle, the E50 uses a compact solid-state design with no compressed gas and no moving parts to service. Once activated, it provides a minimum 50-second discharge—Element states that's more than five times the discharge duration of a typical 5 lb fire extinguisher.

And it's tiny.

The E50 is approximately 1.2 inches in diameter, under 12 inches long, and weighs roughly half a pound, making it much easier to find a practical mounting location on a UTV than a conventional extinguisher bottle.

No Powder. No Corrosive Cleanup.

One of the biggest advantages for powersports applications is what happens after you use it.

Traditional dry-chemical extinguishers can cover the vehicle in powder. Around wiring, electronics, switches, connectors, engine components, and expensive accessories, that's something we'd rather avoid whenever possible.

The Element E50 produces a clean, non-toxic and non-corrosive discharge that leaves essentially no residue. It also has a zero-pressure discharge, meaning there's no high-pressure blast that can potentially spread burning liquids.

For an expensive UTV build loaded with electronics and accessories, that's a major advantage.

Built for Harsh Environments

A fire extinguisher doesn't do much good if bouncing around in a UTV compromises it.

The E50's solid construction has no pressure bottle, gauge, mechanical lever or moving parts to maintain. Element says it is unaffected by vibration, humidity and harsh environments, and its current E50 product information lists tested operation from -58°F to +176°F (-50°C to +80°C).

That makes the E50 especially attractive for off-road vehicles where conventional equipment gets subjected to heat, cold, dust, moisture and constant vibration.

Compact enough that you'll actually carry it. Accessible enough that you'll actually be able to use it.

That's exactly what we want from safety equipment on a UTV.

Why We Like the E50 for UTVs

This is the section I'd definitely put on the American UTV page because it differentiates us from stores simply regurgitating specifications.

Small Enough to Mount Where You Can Reach It

A fire extinguisher buried underneath tools and riding gear isn't very useful.

The E50's narrow profile makes it much easier to mount within reach of the driver or passenger.

No Pressure Bottle

There's no compressed-gas cylinder bouncing around your machine and no pressure gauge to periodically inspect.

Long Discharge Time

The E50 provides at least 50 seconds of discharge, giving you substantially more working time than many traditional compact extinguishers.

No Powder Everywhere

If you're trying to save an expensive UTV, the last thing you want is additional cleanup and potential damage from corrosive dry chemical powder. Element's discharge is non-corrosive and leaves essentially no residue.

Works Around Electrical Equipment

Element's testing documentation includes electrical-fire suitability up to 100,000 volts, making electrical fire protection particularly relevant around UTV batteries, wiring, switch systems, lighting, audio systems and other accessories.

Handles Off-Road Environments

Vibration, heat, cold and moisture are normal for UTVs. Element specifically designs the system without the pressurized components and moving parts found in traditional extinguishers.

Fire Classes

Class Typical Fire Source
Class A Wood, paper, fabric, plastics and ordinary combustibles
Class B Gasoline, diesel, oil and other flammable liquids
Class C Electrical equipment
Class K Cooking oils and grease

Element's certification documentation identifies the E50 as suitable for Classes A, B, C and F, with F corresponding to K in North America.

Important

Element specifically states the E50 is not recommended for outdoor live-coal fires such as wood campfires or burning logs.

That's worth including because it builds trust instead of pretending the product is designed for every possible fire.

Note: Element's current pages have inconsistent published length/weight figures—roughly 10.75–11.75 inches and 0.5–0.6 lb depending on the page. I would not put a more precise length than "under 12 inches" in your main sales copy until Element cleans up that discrepancy.

What's Included

Your customer receives:

  • 1 Element E50 Fire Extinguisher
  • High-visibility striker and cap
  • 1 mounting clip
  • Retail packaging

UTV Applications

The E50 is an excellent safety upgrade for:

Polaris

  • RZR
  • Ranger
  • Xpedition
  • General

Can-Am

  • Maverick X3
  • Maverick R
  • Defender
  • Commander

Honda

  • Talon
  • Pioneer

Kawasaki

Yamaha

  • YXZ
  • Wolverine

CFMOTO

  • ZFORCE
  • UFORCE

And essentially any UTV, ATV, off-road vehicle, race vehicle, truck, Jeep, trailer, RV or garage where compact supplemental fire protection makes sense.

This isn't vehicle-specific, so I would list it as Universal Fitment in Shopify.

 Installation / Mounting

Every E50 includes one plastic mounting clip.

But here's where we have an excellent upsell opportunity.

Element also offers mounting systems designed for vehicle and powersports applications, including a heavy-duty Quick Fist mount, tactical mount and an E50-specific roll-bar mount. The roll-bar mount is designed for tubing up to 2 inches, making it especially relevant to off-road vehicles.

American UTV Installation Recommendation

Mount your extinguisher somewhere that can be reached quickly without unloading cargo or removing seats.

For UTV applications, I'd prioritize:

Roll cage → center console area → seat area → cargo area

depending on the vehicle.

 FAQ

Is the Element E50 good for a UTV?

Yes. Its compact size, low weight, vibration resistance, broad fire-class coverage and clean discharge make it particularly well suited for powersports and off-road vehicles. Element specifically recommends the E50 for automotive and powersports applications.

How long does the E50 discharge?

The E50 provides a minimum 50 seconds of discharge.

Does the Element E50 expire?

Element states that the solid chemical charge has no effective expiration and that the extinguisher doesn't require the regular servicing associated with a traditional pressurized extinguisher.

Does it need to be recharged?

No routine recharging or pressure servicing is required. After an E50 has been activated and discharged, it should be replaced.

Will it make a mess?

Unlike traditional dry-chemical extinguishers, the E50's discharge leaves essentially no residue and is non-corrosive.

Can it fight an electrical fire?

Yes. Element lists the E50 for Class C electrical fires, and its certification information references testing for electrical fires up to 100,000 volts.

Can I leave it mounted in my UTV?

Yes. Element specifically states that the extinguisher is designed to withstand vibration, humidity and extreme temperatures. Keep the protective cap installed so the tip remains dry.

Does it come with a mount?

Yes. One plastic mounting clip is included. Additional heavy-duty, tactical and roll-bar mounting solutions are available separately.

Is the E50 UL certified?

No—and I would absolutely disclose this on your product page.

Element explains that the E50 currently does not fit the physical-form requirements of the existing UL extinguisher standard and therefore cannot replace a required UL-certified extinguisher in regulated applications. It can be used as supplemental protection where a UL extinguisher is legally required.

That's important information that many competitors won't bother explaining.

 Why Buy From American UTV?

At American UTV, we look at safety equipment the same way we look at performance parts: it needs to make sense in the real world.

UTVs put equipment through vibration, dust, moisture, heat and abuse that most vehicles never experience. The Element E50's compact, maintenance-free design makes it an excellent addition to trail machines, race cars and complete UTV builds without taking up the space of a traditional extinguisher bottle.

If you're unsure where or how to mount one on your machine, contact American UTV and we'll help you choose a mounting solution that keeps the extinguisher secure and accessible.v
